Job Description:
Bridgeborn is seeking a Senior Training and Exercise Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Arlington, Virginia. This individual will be responsible for supporting current and future projects for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and supporting a comprehensive program of training, exercises, business process, analysis, and technology implementation.
Summary of Essential Job Functions :
Regularly communicate with various members of the first response and preparedness communities at the Federal, State, and local levels.
Develop and deliver technical/educational briefings, presentations, and publications.
Produce analytical documentation, including summary and analysis of existing policy, concepts for new policy and comprehensive training materials for both contexts.
Provide support for Information Technology, Policy, and Direct Exercise Support project teams.
Assist in the design and development of specialized Information Technology tools and direct support programs for the first response and preparedness communities.
Support Business Development initiatives within the Homeland Security and Military Special Operations communities.

Qualifications Required: Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred. Degrees in Adult Education, Political Science, Homeland Security, or a related field preferred.
Minimum requirements
15 - 20 years of relevant professional experience
Ability to research, prepare, update and maintain course materials
Experience with Federal, State, local and Tribal exercises
Excellent interpersonal skills with highly developed public speaking
Experience conducting formal and informal classroom training, workshops, conferences and seminars
Experience preparing instructor materials, background material, training aids and student materials including course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates and course evaluation forms
Highly prefer past experience supporting DHS, DOJ, DoD or other federal agencies
Strong technical and English writing skills
Ability to interface appropriately with Clients, personnel and other representatives.
Aptitude to process communication styles of Clients, Team Members, and other Stakeholders who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and levels of experience.
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of programs – including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time both CONUS and OCUNUS
Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Experience
Understanding of and successfully completed the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Training Course.
Eight years Special Operations experience SF, Air Force PJ/CCT, Marine Corps (MARSOC/Force Recon), Navy SEAL.
Completed Military Instructor Course or equivalent.
Operational experience in emergency management, first responder training, incident response, exercise development, exercise execution, and exercise evaluation.
Experience as an instructor/trainer in academic and/or vocational settings.
Familiarity with Federal, State and local government processes, including homeland security planning efforts, counterterrorism issues, and exercise development and evaluation.
Background in National Preparedness policy and/or operations, government policy, and/or technology background.
