Job Description:
Bridgeborn is seeking multiple part-time Knowledge Management Consultants to assist our team in pursuing an opportunity with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Successful candidates will play a role in developing and supporting management processes, lessons learned, and best practices in areas such as long-term development, support of local economies, and promotion of peace, democracy, and independent media. The success of USAID initiatives in these areas will depend on the ability to effectively capture, transfer, and maintain ongoing analysis of knowledge and experience. The consultation will be provided to staff at headquarters and in the field, USAID Missions overseas, and other U.S. Government agencies.
Summary of Essential Job Functions :
Conduct requirements analysis through organized forums, focus groups, and surveys on Knowledge Management strategies.
Design, test, and deploy new features, such as group collaboration web spaces and searchable photo collections, on the client’s website.
Provide support and enhancements to Knowledge Management applications for use on mobile platforms.
Facilitate the incorporation of multimedia in Knowledge Management applications.
Facilitate the roll out of Knowledge Management initiatives through demonstrations, presentations, training documentation, and training workshops.
Develop training materials and train program staff on Knowledge Management areas such as information management, software use, and information management systems.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical area.
8 - 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills with highly developed public speaking.
Proficiency with Drupal software.
Experience conducting formal and informal classroom training, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Strong technical and English writing skills.
Aptitude to process communication styles of clients, team members, and other stakeholders who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and levels of experience.
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
Foreign language proficiency (e.g., Dari, Pashto, Urdu, Arabic, Mandarin, French)
Desired Experience:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical area.
Experience supporting USAID or other federal agencies.
Project management experience supporting federal Government clients.
Experience as an instructor/trainer in academic and/or vocational settings.
Experience providing web-based training and instruction.
