Bridgeborn to provide recommendations and guidance on Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Policy

Virginia Beach, VA – August 22, 2008 – Bridgeborn, a leading systems design, engineering and integration company, today announced that the L-3 Communications Team, which includes Bridgeborn, was awarded a contract through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Exercise Division (NED) to provide consulting services for the continued refinement and institutionalization of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) policy, doctrine, and guidance. Bridgeborn’s support on this contract includes providing DHS and FEMA with recommendations and assistance with HSEEP Policy as well as supporting documentation, communications, training, and technology initiatives. The scope of this work will involve interaction, outreach and coordination at the Federal, National, Regional, State, and local homeland security communities.

Mandated through directives such as Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 8, the National Exercise Program (NEP) is a critical component of evaluating, validating, and improving homeland security plans, policies, and procedures across all levels of government. As part of the win team on this contract, Bridgeborn has been tasked with ensuring that homeland security exercises throughout the country are conducted within a consistent framework that reflects best practices, facilitates identification of lessons learned, and incorporates exercise results into tangible improvement planning activities while providing a common system for supporting the measurement of overall preparedness.

“Having supported the Department of Homeland Security for over 4 years, we recognize the importance of this work as it relates to ensuring the overall preparedness of the exercise community at all levels of Government throughout the country” said Bridgeborn CEO, Tim Ambrosino. “We are pleased to be part of the L-3 team and we look forward to our continued support of the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”
