Bridgeborn’s work in the National Security arena includes 5+ years of support for the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA). Bridgeborn’s services and support for DHS/FEMA have centered on development of presidentially mandated tools and technologies as well as related training, operations and policy guidance for the National Exercise Program.
Services Provided:
Bridgeborn’s support of DHS/FEMA includes IT Services, Training, Policy Guidance and Operations. Our initial support of DHS/FEMA drew upon our ability to support the entire lifecycle of a complex IT program ranging from business process analysis to systems design and integration through delivery and maintenance. Bridgeborn has also provided policy support to DHS for 4+ years. This work has focused on the application of Capability Based Planning (CBP) methodologies to develop policy for building self-sustaining programs. Most recently, Bridgeborn has expanded its capabilities to include personnel with subject matter expertise and strong past performance in Training and Education, Exercise Conduct and Evaluation as well as Operational Security Preparedness and Assessments.
Flagship Programs Overview:
DHS/FEMA: Bridgeborn has supported the Department of Homeland Security since 2004, providing a unique blend of technological, operational, and policy solutions to enhance DHS/FEMA’s ability to meet the goal of increasing national preparedness with respect to all-hazards threats. Bridgeborn’s support of the National Exercise Program started with rapid prototyping using agile and spiral development methodologies to create the baseline tools, functionality, and capabilities to support the Homeland Security exercise community including Federal, State and local users. These tools – including the National Exercise Schedule System, Design and Development System, and Corrective Action Program System – are now a robust, deployed and integrated product suite known as the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Toolkit.
Through successful support of DHS/FEMA’s early technology requirements and communication and coordination with the homeland security community user base, Bridgeborn was awarded contracts to provide Policy support. This includes guidance, materials, and other programmatic support to implement the standardization of the Nation’s training and exercise activities through HSEEP. Most recently, Bridgeborn was tapped to provide lead support in planning and developing National Level Exercise 2010 (NLE 10).
